Description (Specifications)
The Iper’mar can be found on numerous low-tech worlds in Fornast, Ley, the Imperial Empty Quarter, and the Spinward Marches: running starports; life support, power, and communication systems on low-tech worlds; maintaining high-tech, high-profit schools on backwater worlds; advising low-tech elites on interstellar society and technology; and providing mid- and high-tech medical care to those individuals who can pay for it. Providing workable high-tech solutions to low-tech systems, the Iper'mar are recognized as one of the binding forces of Coreward/Trailing Imperial interstellar society.
History & Background (Dossier)
The name Iper'mar is originally derived from the term "Imperial Matrices," a term for the once-dominant merchant families of Lambert system. Over time, the meaning has shifted to something like "refugees" or "exiles."
They are also known as "tech tyrants" in Ley Sector, due to their domineering attitude towards low-tech cultures. This term is gaining currency in the Quarter as well.
