An Infotoid is the typoid classification for a type of life which lives within an energy matrix. It is a kind of unconventional life.

This creature is distinguished by a number of characteristics:

Specific Species Examples[edit]
Charted Space knows relatively few Infotoid species.
The Cymbeline are a strange race of infotoids or mechanimorphs that originated in the rimward side of the Imperium. Their rapid mutation and ability to control computer systems as given then several different names for the different eras of their evolution including Virus, Vampire, Chips, Cym, AI Race, and Awakened.
The Essaray apparently evolved beyond the borders of Charted Space, and apparently an infotoid or mechanimorph. Little is conclusively known about this race.
