Description (Specifications)[edit]

Most AFVs taken out of action during combat can be returned to service if they are repaired, but heavy Grav Vehicles without power or gravitics are extreemly hard to move. The answer is another Grav Vehicle designed to pick them up and carry them. This vehicle is the Imperial Recovery Sled.

Unlike many recovery vehicles, the Grav Recovery Sled does not require winches or cranes to manipulate or extricate damaged or derelict vehicles. Rather, the bottom of the loadbed can be opened allowing the Imperial Recovery Sled to settle around the the disabled vehicle from above, and attach itself to it. This allows the Imperial Recovery Sled's contra-grav envelope to directly act upon the cargo.

The open bed is large enough to carry the largest imperial battlefield vehicles - the Imperial class Heavy Grav Tank and the Meson Artillery Vehicle.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Imperial Recovery Sled was developed soon after the benefits of the TL–15 fusion power plant were realised. It was widely deployed in the Spinward Marches Sector and elsewhere in the Domain of Deneb.

This class became the de-facto standard for TL–15 recovery vehicle for the Regency Army and Regency Marines.

The vehicle has also been, in extremis, pressed into service for logistical transport!

After the Fifth Frontier War a few such vehicles found their way into Civilian usage, but this is generally unusual.
