Ilea is a low-population world with a population of less than 10,000 sophonts in size.
- This world has yet to take off economically or otherwise and the population remains low for reasons largely unknown.
- It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Xelan Subsector of Far Home Sector.
Astrography and Planetology
This star system is detailed using the Fringian Variant System Description.
- It is a part of the Ragol Drift.

System Data
Fince-Ilea System
The primary is Fince, an ordinary orange main sequence star. It has a luminosity of 0.352 Sols, a mass of 0.774 Sols, and a diameter of 1.168 million km. The inner system consists of (I) a vacuum worldlet, and (II) a trace atmosphere worldlet. (III) Ilea orbits within the habitable zone and is designated the mainworld. (IV-I) a thin atmosphere hospitable world, (IV-II) a very thin atmosphere hospitable world, (V) a trace atmosphere iceworld, (VI) a sparse icy planetoid belt, (VII) a large gas giant, and (VIII) a ringed small gas giant form the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.
Mainworld Data
(III) Ilea
(III) Ilea is designated the mainworld. It orbits Fince at a mean distance of 0.63 AU (94.3 million km), within the habitable zone. It has an orbital period of 207 days 15 hours and a rotation period of 28.5 hours. The axial tilt is 22 degrees. Ilea has a diameter of 7,865 km, a density of 4.79 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 0.54 G. The world is geologically active. Its atmosphere is rated as Standard, Tainted, with a mean surface pressure of 1.12 bar and a composition of 75% nitrogen (N2), 24% oxygen (O2), and 1% argon (Ar), water vapor (H2O), carbon dioxide (CO2), neon (Ne) and other trace gases. The taint is caused by trace airborne contaminants of organic origin that produce a psychological response in humans. Approximately 36% of the surface is covered in seas of liquid water: average tidal ranges exceed 0.2m. Mean surface temperature: 33°C. The atmosphere is active and moderate weather systems driven by the star and the seas work across the globe. The climate is seasonal.
Mainworld Geography and Topography
Total surface area: 194 million km², Land surface area: 130 million km², Water surface area: 64 million km².
Native Lifeforms
Fince-Ilea System
Ilea, the mainworld, has extensive, abundant native life, with complex organisms inhabiting every ecological niche. Their metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.
The cold hospitable world lying in orbital position (IV-I) has extensive native life, consisting of microscopic organisms, stromatolite-parallels and primitive flora that can be found in almost every ecological niche. Their metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.
The cold marginally hospitable world lying in orbital position (IV-II) has primitive native life, consisting almost entirely of microscopic cyanobacteria-parallels that exist in most ecological niches. Their metabolic functions maintain the process of atmospheric renewal.
No other world in the system is known to have native life.
History & Background (Dossier)
No information yet available.
World starport
Ilea has a Class D Starport, a poor quality installation which has few of the expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
World technology level
Ilea possesses a Technology Level of TL–4.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Telephone and telegraphs, widespread printing.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early electricity, hydrocarbon internal combustion.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Trains and early automobiles.
- Water: Clippers and steam ships.
- Air: Dirigibles, balloons, very basic rockets.
World government
Ilea is governed by a Feudal Technocracy. Society divides itself based on the technical requirements of the society. Each of these functions are granted as a fief to an individual or group. Leadership of these fiefs determines the head of the government.
