The Igikur of Igikur (Ley 1938) are a Minor Non-Human Race with a Non-humanoid appearance and technologically competent sophonts.

Description (Specifications)

The Igikur are an aquatic, vaguely similar to the Terran octopus, race living in the depths of their world's small ocean. They are long-lived (500-1,000 years) and have a stable TL–7 society. The Igikur are xenophobic and suspicious of visitors, so little is known about them. Their xenophobic nature has led the Imperium to mark the world as a Red Zone.

History & Background (Dossier)

The surface of the planet shows some curious anomalies. Deep radioactive pits have been detected in the bedrock at various points around the globe, but every one has been filled with loose rock and covered over with soil to create a convincing landscape. Were it not for high-technology densitometers, these craters would never have been detected. All the craters are formed in groups which resemble orbital bombardment bracket patters, as if during some ancient war an attacker had chosen to obliterate cities and defense sites.
