It is a member of Third Imperium in the Lanth Subsector of Spinward Marches Sector and in the Domain of Deneb. Icetina, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight, a member of the Imperial Nobility charged with overseeing the world. This world has a nearby Imperial Naval Base, capable of handling warships.

Icetina has a normal climate and a very thin oxygen-nitrogen atmosphere tainted by mild noxious gases. Icetina is a moon of the small gas giant Luartha. The passage of Icetina through the strong magnetic field of the gas giant produces induction heating which keeps the world at a pleasant temperature, but also causes releases a number of noxious gases.
