Holdo is a nonindustrial water world, which has 90% or more of its surface covered in an ocean of water.
- The inhabitants of this world live on the roughly 10% of exposed land mass, in underwater colonies, on city ships, or similar arrangements.
- As a nonindustrial world, it requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. The need to import most manufactured and high technology goods drives the price of these goods up in the open market.
- It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Talokan Void Subsector of Mavuzog Sector.
- It is a balmy tropical world, with a climate of high temperatures.
- This is a "high technology" world with technology achievements at, near, or over technology standards for Charted Space.
- This world-system hosts a Naval Base, usually associated with military starships, which may be located on or off-world.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)
Holdo is a binary star system.
- The primary is a white main sequence.
- The secondary is an orange main sequence.
- It lies on the edge of the Talokan Void.

System Data
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld.
- x5 secondary rocky worlds.
- x2 planetoid belts.
- x3 gas giants.
Mainworld Data
The mainworld orbits within the star's Habitable Zone.
- It lies within the zones warmer inner H+ region
- It receives higher levels of stellar energy.
- The world orbits beyond the stars Jump Shadow.
Mainworld Size (S)
Holdo is a Meso World between 10,400km and 12,000km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.7G and 0.9G. The horizon will appear about 4.7km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)
Holdo has a pressure of 1.50 to 2.49 atmospheres. While a Dense Atmosphere requires no survival gear this atmosphere also contains an unusual taint such as such as disease, a hazardous gas mix, pollutants, or sulfur compounds which requires the use of a Filter Mask. Some taints may require more protective equipment. TL–3 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)
Holdo has 95-100% of its surface covered by liquid water with only a few islands and archipelagos. Wilderness refueling is possible. Such worlds are Water Worlds or Ocean Worlds.
Mainworld Geography and Topography
No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.
- Locally, detailed maps may be available.
- Verified updated charts are constantly sought.
- Detailed survey data commands premium prices.
(Placeholder chart, predominantly watery world.)
Native lifeforms
Abundant aquatic native life occupying every available ecological niche. Its metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.
History & Background (Dossier)
Won a very lucrative contract to design and build prototype civilian commercial spaceships for the TTA Commercial Design Bureau.
World Starport (St)
Holdo has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
World Demographics (P)
Holdo has a population of 600,000.
Urbanization
A single sprawling urban center is located on a large island.
- It is surrounded by a few smaller satellite communities on the same archipelago.
- Most of the surface is ocean wilderness.
World Technology Level (T)
Holdo possesses a Technology Level of TL–12 or TL-C in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Holovision, Personal Global Communications, and advanced Translators.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Increasingly advanced fusion plants and advanced fuel cells.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land, Water & Air: Personal G-Tubes and advanced gravcraft.
- Space: Advanced interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-3.
World Government (G)
Holdo is governed by an Impersonal Bureaucracy. The leadership of the government is another form (democracy, dictatorship, oligarchy), but the bureaucracy dictates government policy and its execution. Government leadership is reduced to little more than figureheads and does not select the bureaucracy leadership or its members.
World Military
Approximately 2000 personnel.
World Economy
- Resources: B (abundant)
- Labor: 4 (tens of thousands)
- Infrastructure: 6 (limited)
- Efficiency: -4 (very poor)
Trade Data
Importance: +1 (important)
The world hosts a commercial operations base for the Talokan Trade Authority.
- The site includes a private spaceport.
- The facility is guarded by corporate security.
World Culture
- Homogeneity: 3 (monolithic)
- Acceptance: 6 (aloof)
- Strangeness: 1 (very typical)
- Symbols: A (abstract)
World Timeline
