Description (Specifications)

Not intended to stand long in the line of battle, the life expectancy of any destroyer facing capital ships of the line is short. With full knowledge of this, Caledonian naval architects have crafted a lightly protected design capable of fleet security, reconnaissance, and when required massed attack. The marines aboard are experts trained in boarding actions and search and seizure of smuggler's contraband. They use powerful zero G maneuver packs when necessary and have been know to use hull breaching charges to take prizes by surprise.

History & Background (Dossier)

Equipped with a large cargo hold to maintain enough supplies for long cruises and this allows the ship to remain on station for several weeks without replenishment. Long independent patrols hunting pirates are a favorite pastime for the wolf packs of these destroyers. Several destroyers will be dispatched from the nearest task force command center and assigned a patrol route for anti-piracy and commerce convoy security.
