Starships are designed with the Classic Traveller format, using High Guard Shipyard v1.13 written by Andrea Vallance. |
The Gzong!xk class Battlecruiser is a heavy warship.
- It is a military ship and a Battlecruiser.
Description (Specifications)
This battlecruiser is shaped a huge flattened saucer, typical of K'Kree naval architecture. The vast interior is styled as a huge closed loop recycling, biosphere with plants, plains, grasslands, an artificial sky, bodies of water and weather events (precipitation). In other words there are no staterooms. There is one vast integrated life support system with all the mechanical support materials hidden from view and maintained by dedicated engineering robots. Command interface is on-demand, holographic, verbal, somatic and olfactory. On this ship an odor might be a signal, or a status update for the crew. The higher castes have their families and servants aboard. However, comfort comes at a price.
The streamlined saucer is lightly armored, and protected by a single battery of triple sand casters and good screens. There are five batteries of triple beam laser turrets, a spinal mounted factor T meson gun, and eighty missile bays for nuclear orbital bombardment of planets thought to shelter carnivores. The limited range and speed is seen as an acceptable trade off for the weapon load. Such are the strange priorities of naval architects within the Two Thousand Worlds.
