Gwynedd is a world located in Gemini Subsector of the Solamani Rim. The system is a member of the Solomani Confederation and contains a Confederation naval base.

Human settlement of Gwynedd has concentrated in a few mountain areas where humans can breathe freely. Gwynedd remains a world divided between two distinct population: an "aboriginal" group descended from the original Terran settlers, who had adopted a pseudo-feudal, pre-technological culture, and a more recently arrived group of high-tech Solomani colonists

The industrial cities are centers of high-technology civilization, supporting the starport, naval base, and shipyard. In the countryside, the old peasantry lives side by side with the dispossessed aristocracy, attempting to adjust to the new state of affairs on their world.
