Gurgaliinash is a nonindustrial hellworld with a population struggling to survive in an inhospitable environment.

  • Hellworlds often offer daily, and sometimes even hourly, life-threatening situations to their inhabitants. Survivors often form intense survival skills and tend to be grim realists.
  • It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society.
  • It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Kraxin Subsector of Glimmerdrift Reaches Sector.
  • This world supports a nearby military base.

History & Background / Dossier

Significant as a Jump-2 link into the Stoner Cluster, Gurgaliinash is a dry but otherwise reasonably pleasant world. Unusually for the region, the world has a Vilani name. How this came to be is lost in history, but the most popular theory is that the world was settled by a Vilani group fleeing the conquest of the Ziru Sirka by the Terrans. Certainly there are Vilani traditions to be observed among the modern population.

World Starport

Gurgaliinash has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

World Technology Level

Gurgaliinash possesses a Technology Level of TL–6.

World Government

Gurgaliinash is governed by a Feudal Technocracy. Society divides itself based on the technical requirements of the society. Each of these functions are granted as a fief to an individual or group. Leadership of these fiefs determines the head of the government.

World Demographics

It is commonly theorised that this world was settled by a Vilani group fleeing the conquest of the Ziru Sirka by the Terrans. Any Vilani bloodlines have long since been diluted, but there are Vilani traditions to be observed among the Solomani-descended modern population.
