Ghatsokie is a rich and agricultural production world with a shirt-sleeve atmosphere and a balance of available surface water. The system supports a population in the millions of sophonts, lacking the industrial base to be completely self-supporting. This world is designated an Amber Zone with an environment, laws, customs, life forms, or other conditions make it dangerous to visitors. It is a Human dominated Non-Aligned world in the Lamas Subsector of Deneb Sector. This is the homeworld of the Crenduthaar, a Minor Race. They are 80% of the world's population. 20% of the world's population is the Major Race Vargr.

World Data
Ghatsokie is homeworld of the Crenduthaar minor race and is the tidally locked world of a small M7 star. The Crenduthaar are a mammalian-like centauroid species that evolved from predators native to the hotside of this tidally locked world, fearsome in appearance but actually quite pacifistic and gentle in demeanor. Most of the Crendu live in loose family structures that roam the hotside, gathering food and materials for survival. Ghatsokie is a harsh and barren planet with extensive vulcanism, where the thick atmophere contains small, but non-dangerous amounts of both hydrogen sulfide and sulfur doixide, and most open water has a faintly purple tinge due to dissolved metallic salts.
The Vargr minority lives in colonies scattered throughout the twilight zone of the planetary terminator, while the Crendu live in the world's hotside, where temperatures average 40 C. The planet's frigid never rise above freezing.

Native Sophont (NIL): Crenduthaar
The mainworld is notable as the homeworld of the philosophical Crenduthaar, a hexapodal Minor Race with a fearsome appearance.
The Vargr made first contact with the Crenduthaar, and quickly overwhelmed them with technology. Various Vargr governments have enslaved and occupied their Ghatsokie ever since, and today the mainworld population is approximately 20% Vargr. The world's Tech Level refers only to the Vargr, Crenduthaar society is TL–0.

World Government
These were originally a religious group known as the "Followers of Auugh", but are now dominated by the descendants of refugees that fled here during the Collapse. The relations between the two groups are hostile, with the Vargr often enslaving Crendu to work at menial or backbreaking jobs in their communities. Crendu often retaliate through terrorist raids upon their communities, or by simply killing every Vargr they encounter. Since the Vargr invaded, the UWP has applied to them. The UWPs for Ghatsokie during both the First Imperium and the Insterstellar Wars is for the native Crenduthaar.
World Economy
Chagas Gems
To make their way among the human worlds, Crenduthaar have learned that they need a medium of exchange. They have found that medium in chagas gems, a crystallized mineral salt from Ghatsokie's sunside Thaarlingst Plateau. Ranging in size from kernels of rice to a human fist, chagas gems are blood-red in color, deeply translucent, and appear to contain a pulsing inner light. Possessing a hardness of 9 (diamonds are 10) they are useful in certain industrial processes, but their greatest value lies in human appreciation of their beauty as gemstones. A small chagas might be worth Cr 1,000, while a very large one might bring Cr 100,000,000 or more. Crendu will offer such gems for perhaps ten percent of their market value. A few merchants and traders have become wealthy hiring their ships in exchange for "chagas bloods" or star hearts".
Anyone who owns a chagas gem is thought to have his soul linked to the destiny of Thaar. Thus, Crendu think it highly appropriate that traders or smugglers hired to run the Vargr blockade, be pair in these stones.
They also tend to be deeply disturbed by characters who take chagas gems for the promised action, then go back on that promise. The Crendu term for such creatures is Gnagash.

Historical Data
During the Civil War period, a group of offworld agents and Crenduthaar known as the Uvryuashgis would run the Vargr blockade to bring in supplies to aid Crendu resistance, and would often rescue and evacuate formerly enslaved Crendu back to the Domain of Deneb. The organization has been terminated because of Quarantine considerations, but sympathetic sophonts in the RQS still check up on these gentle giants, and sometimes slips stuff "under the table" for their use.
