Gevel is an agricultural, nonindustrial, pre-rich garden world with a near-ideal, utopian environment conducive to most sophonts, but still lacks an adequate population to expand its economy to a rich status.
- As an agricultural world, this world is a near-ideal environment for producing quality foodstuffs of plant, animal, and other forms. Quality foodstuffs are a major export commodity for this world.
- It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. Having to import most manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world.
- Its economy and population are rapidly growing and living conditions are expected to quickly rise barring outside forces.
- This is a "low technology" world with technology competencies well below technology standards for Charted Space.

The system primary is Malaset, an ordinary yellow-white main sequence star. It has a luminosity of 1.667 Sols, a mass of 1.091 Sols and a diameter of 1.535 million km. Its inner zone consists of (I, II) two rocky vacuum worlds, and (III) a large exotic atmosphere world. (IV) Gevel orbits within the habitable zone and is designated the mainworld. (V) a small gas giant, (VI) a sparse rocky planetoid belt, (VII) a large gas giant, (VIII, IX) two small icy vacuum worlds, and (X) a small exotic atmosphere world form the outer system. (IV) Gevel, both of the gas giants and both of the exotic atmosphere worlds retain satellites.

(IV) Gevel is designated as the mainworld. It orbits primary at a mean distance of 1.06 AU (159 million km), it has an orbital period of XXX days XX hours and a rotation period of 22.5 hours. The axial tilt is 15 degrees. Gevel has a diameter of 11,002 km, a density of 5.66 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 0.88 G. Its atmosphere is rated as Standard, with a mean surface pressure of 0.92 bar and a composition of 76% nitrogen, 23% oxygen, and 1% argon, carbon dioxide, neon and other trace gases. Approximately 64% of the surface is covered in oceans of liquid water: average tidal ranges exceed 0.5m. Mean surface temperature: 15°C. The atmosphere is dynamic and powerful weather systems, driven by the star and the oceans, sweep across the globe. The climate is seasonal and weather patterns follow regular cycles during the local year.
