World Starport
Gazala has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which includes amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
The starport, on Gazala's only moon, was class-D when Grand Duchy of Stoner forces arrived and chased off the private firm based out of Phelina that was operating it. The port is now known as Outpost 1209, and its facilities have been upgraded to ostensible class-C, but are still in truth limited. It is little more than a refuelling point and a base for a squadron of Stoner warships that secure the system.
World Technology Level
Gazala possesses a Technology Level of TL–13 or TL-D in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Holovideo recorders.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Miniature super-batteries, prototype collectors, advanced fusion plants.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land, Water & Air: Personal G-Tubes and advanced gravcraft.
- Space: Advanced interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-4.
World Government
Gazala is governed by a Religious Autocracy. A direct religious theocracy where the government head is a single person who is also the head of the religion organization. The Church hierarchy also serves as the government bureaucracy.
The Grand Duchy of Stoner is technically in control, but doesn't govern the Gazalan cities. Their industrial and technological output would be an asset to the Grand Duchy, but taking on vast numbers of religious fanatics in close urban terrain would be foolhardy. Instead, Stoner was content to hold the high ground and to work towards an accommodation with the Glory of Faith. The Grand Duchy has what it wants -- control of the system's port and refuelling station, a base from which to deny the system to intruders, and a secure Jump-2 route out of the Stoner Cluster to Coreward. The people of Gazala seem to accept this.
