World Starport
Garonne has a Class D Starport, a poor quality installation which has few of the expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.

Historical Data
Garonne/Haldensleben is the site of the ambush of the Lightning class Cruiser ISS Vermillion Stance in 1042. The Zhodani Tozjabr had acquired the itinerary of the cruiser from its agents within the Imperium and arranged to seize the ship in the Garonne system. When the Vermillion Stance arrived, all seemed normal until the reception of the Garonnean government on the ship's quarterdeck. The Zhodani utilized a variety of data acquisition modules, which were actually warbots in disguise. These warbots were programmed to act clumsily in order to give the impression that the Garonneans wished to appear more advanced than they actually were. The modules acquired much of the technological data being given away to the Garroneans. The ruse worked, with each group of modules wandering in selected areas of the ship accompanied by Tozjabr agents in disguise. As it happened, a curious fuel deck ensign saw through a warbot’s disguise, which disrupted the plan that would have otherwise worked perfectly. The fate of the Vermillion Stance only surfaced after a prisoner exchange following the Fourth Frontier War. [2][3][4]
