System Data

Aarin-Fyce System

The primary is Aarin, an ordinary red main sequence star. It has a luminosity of 0.0202 Sols, a mass of 0.3942 Sols, and a diameter of 604,000 km. The outer system consists of (I) a large gas giant, (II) Hobart, an exotic atmosphere radworld: (IIa) Fyce is its only satellite and is designated the mainworld, (III) an exotic atmosphere bigworld, (IV) a vacuum iceworld, (V) a small gas giant, (VI) a small ice giant, and (VII) a sparse icy planetoid belt. Many of the worlds retain satellites.

(II) Hobart

(II) Hobart (UWP Y6A0000-0) is categorised as a radworld and orbits Aarin at a mean distance of 0.42 AU (62.8 million km), within the outer system. It has an orbital period of 158 days 8 hours and a rotation period of 18 hours 45 minutes. The axial tilt is 16 degrees. Hobart has a diameter of 9,752 km, a density of 5.71 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 0.79 G. The world is geologically very active. Its atmosphere is rated as Exotic, with a mean surface pressure of 1.44 bar and a composition of 96% carbon dioxide (CO2), 3% nitrogen (N2) and 1% argon (Ar), water vapor (H2O), azane (NH3), carbon monoxide (CO), neon (Ne) and other trace gases. It has no hydrosphere. The surface and atmosphere of Hobart are extremely radioactive with emission rates exceeding 100 rads per hour. Mean surface temperature: 12°C. The atmosphere is dynamic and powerful weather systems, driven by the star, sweep across the globe. The climate is seasonal.

Mainworld Data

(IIa) Fyce

(IIa) Fyce is the only satellite of Hobart and is designated the mainworld. It orbits its parent world at a mean distance of 12 diameters (117,000 km), with an orbital period of 4 days 23 hours: it is tidally locked to Hobart. It has an axial tilt of 2 degrees. Fyce has a diameter of 3,013 km, a density of 4.88 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 0.21 G. Tidal stresses generated by the gravitational pull of Hobart cause regular geological activity. Its atmosphere is rated as Trace, with a mean surface pressure of 0.02 bar and a composition of 99% carbon dioxide (CO2) and 1% argon (Ar), water vapor (H2O), carbon monoxide (CO), neon (Ne) and other trace gases. Approximately 12% of the surface is covered in sheets of water-ice. Mean surface temperature: -112°C. The world has a static climate and no seasons.

Mainworld Geography and Topography

Total surface area: 29 million km², Land surface area: 25.5 million km², Ice surface area: 3.5 million km².

Native Lifeforms

No world in the Fyce system is known to have native life.

History & Background (Dossier)

The planet's profile changed recently. The population, government and technology level have changed as a result of an unwelcomed invasion. A newly acquired system among the Dependent Worlds at the hands of the Unity of Sed. A corporate structure has been inserted to expedite resource extraction and development. Modular industrial fabricators have been dropped from orbit and installed to begin manufacturing military equipment for the occupation forces. Indoctrination centers have begun converting malcontents and prisoners into compliant soldiers.

World starport

Fyce has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which includes amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.

World technology level

Fyce possesses a Technology Level of TL–10 or TL-A in Hexadecimal Notation.

World government

Fyce is governed by a Corporate Polity with a single corporation with a typical corporate structure as a government. A company town, or world. The typical corporate run world usually has a single purpose. Examples include mining, agriculture, or other kinds of resource extraction. But rather than a simple base of operations, there are facilities for housing workers and their families including hospitals, schools, and other infrastructure. How, or if, the children of the workers are incorporated into the workforce varies with companies. The corporation running the world may be a subsidiary of a larger interstellar corporation.

World military

A company of twelve Turtle class Tracked Tank Destroyers has been manufactured locally and are crewed with 36 locally raised militia converts in three Jaeger platoons. As yet the unit is bereft organic command, supply and logistics support. It functions attached to the occupational Arvan's Hammer garrison delivered by the The Righteous Hand.
