Description / Specifications[edit]

The Pickup Truck is a small passenger/cargo vehicle designed for the civilian market.

Hull / Suspension[edit]

A generally box-shaped hull constructed from steel and plastics

  • Length: 5.5m, Width: 1.8m, Height: 1.7m.
  • Overall Volume: approximately 16.8m³ (1.3 dTons).
  • Unloaded Weight: 2,800 kg.

The overall volume measures the vehicles maximum dimensions and includes road clearance. The enclosed volume of the contoured hull is lower.

The vehicle is fitted with a wheeled suspension system mounted on axles.

  • The vehicle performs well on metalled surfaces and has some off-road capability.

Power / Transmission[edit]

A small internal combustion power plant using hydrocarbon fuel. The fuel is contained within a small protected tank.

Performance[edit]

  • Cruise Speed: 120 kph, Top Speed: 170 kph. Off-road Speed: less than 30 kph.
  • Range: 900 km at Cruise Speed, 650 km at Top Speed.

Crew / Cargo[edit]

The body of the Pickup Truck consists of an enclosed compartment fitted with clear windows. The crew cabin is located generally centrally and contains two front seats and two rear seats – an additional passenger can be accommodated on the rear seat though such arrangements are cramped. The vehicle has basic environmental protection (the hull is weatherproof but is not sealed) and is fitted with interior lights. The driver's position is fitted with basic mechanical controls. A console provides data such as engine temperature and velocity.

There is an open topped rear cargo deck.

  • Cargo Storage: 1.5m³ (0.1 dTons).
  • Maximum Load: 2,200 kg (including passengers) before performance is impaired.
    • Maximum Gross Weight: 5,500 kg.

Equipment[edit]

Headlights and running lights. Small (typically 50 km range) radio communicator. A winch suitable for moving small obstacles is fitted to the front of the hull and a spotlight is fitted to the exterior of the cabin roof.

History / Background[edit]

A relatively cheap, rugged model available in a variety of body styles and colors. Vehicles of this kind are produced in vast numbers and are broadly available (at very competitive prices) from showrooms in many urban area.
