The Executive Yacht is a small luxury vessel and a starship.
- It is a civilian ship and a Yacht.
Description (Specifications)
The Executive Yacht is a private vessel occasionally encountered within the Distant Fringe. It is classified as a Non-Commercial Ship and is constructed as a conventional design. Similar designs have been in use from the time the Distant Fringe was first settled.
- The vessel is a TL-11 design.
Basic Ship Characteristics
Following the Imperial Navy and IISS Universal Ship Profile and data, additional information is presented in the format shown here. The small craft factor indicates the number of squadrons (of ten craft) carried on the ship. Tonnage on the universal ship profile is shown in kilotons (thousands of tons) where necessary. [1]

Hull
The Executive Yacht is constructed using a 200-dTon hull built in a generally wedge-shaped configuration. The hull is fully streamlined: the ship has no facilities for frontier refuelling.
- Individual sections of the ship are divided by bulkhead walls. Sections of the ship can be isolated in the event of an emergency.
- The hull includes internal grav plates and inertial compensators. All accessible sections of the hull have life support.
Engineering
The vessel mounts a DeVoss-type jump-2 drive, a maneuver-4 drive, and a power plant 4, giving performance of jump-2 and 4G acceleration. The ship has an agility rating of 2 and an emergency agility of 4. There is fuel tankage of 48 dTons, sufficient for one jump-2 and giving the power plant four weeks duration.
- The jump drive utilises a lanthanum hull grid.
- The jump drive is fitted with a jump governor.
Main Section
Adjacent to the bridge is a computer model/3. There are 14x staterooms. Double occupancy accommodations are required for all crew except the captain. 8 staterooms are available to paying passengers: 2x staterooms serve as a large communal area. Cargo capacity amounts to 6 dTons.
- The vessel is fitted with sophisticated communications equipment and an advanced sensor suite.
Crew
The Executive Yacht requires 7 crew: 2x command, 1x engineering, 2x gunnery, 1x service and 1x steward – one member of the crew serves as the pilot for the Gig when required.
Weapons
The ship is fitted with two turrets:
- one triple turret mounting beam lasers
- one triple turret mounting missile racks
Subcraft
The ship carries a 10 dTon Gig in a dedicated hanger.
Cost
The basic cost of the vessel, complete with a Gig, is MCr168.462.
- Both craft are standard designs. Detailed architectural plans are widely available and no design fee is chargeable.
- If multiple examples of the design are ordered all of the ships in the production run qualify for a 20% discount, which reduces their price to MCr134.770.
History & Background (Dossier)
The design is representative and a large number of variants exist, particularly with regard to the allotted weapons systems, onboard electronics, and the fit out of internal spaces.
