Frell is a ring of many small worldlets (planetoids AKA an "asteroid belt"), not capable of retaining an atmosphere or water, and nonindustrial in nature.
- These worldlets warrant hazardous environment precautions.
- Life in a vacuum requires great discipline. After all, it only takes one forgotten seal on a vacuum suit to spell death. Those who survive tend to be very methodically-minded and attentive to small detail.
- The worldlets require extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. Having to import most manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world.
- It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Frell Subsector of Halcyon Sector.
Astrography and Planetology
- This world lies within the Rissa Gateway region.

System data
The primary is Chaud, a gigantic red giant star. It has a luminosity of 3.042 Sols, a mass of 6.96 Sols and a diameter of 222.6 million km (approximately 1.5 AU). The inner system consists of (V) a small rocky vacuum world, (VI) an exotic atmosphere world, (VII) a scorched desert world, and (VIII) a dense stony planetoid belt nominated as the mainworld – orbital positions (I), (II), (III) and (IV) lie within the star. (IX) a large exotic atmosphere world orbits within the habitable zone. (X) a large icy world, (XI, XII) two small gas giants, (XIII) a rocky vacuum world, and (XIV) a sparse stony planetoid belt form the outer system. Most of the worlds retain families of satellites.

World starport
Frell has a Class D Starport, a poor quality installation which has few of the expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
World technology level
Frell possesses a Technology Level of TL–9.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Fiber optics and satellite communication and data networks.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early fusion power.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Ultra high-speed trains and early grav vehicles.
- Water: High efficiency sailcraft, multihulled seacraft, improved artificial gills.
- Air: Tiltrotorcraft, exotic VTOL's, PARWIG, and rocket-assisted suborbitals.
- Space: SSTO spacecraft, early military spacecraft (System Craft), and interstellar STL starships
- FTL: Prototype Jump Drive-1.
World government
Frell is governed by Self-Perpetuating Oligarchy. A single family or small group provides the leadership and important positions in the government. These positions are inherited by member of the group or their family members. The organization may be monarchy, with titles passed to family members. Or a plutocracy where inheritance of the family fortune includes government position. Or the organization may be more typical organization with positions of power inherited.
