Felu Mar is an icy, non-agricultural and nonindustrial vacuum world, whose surface is ice-capped and with nearly all of its water frozen and warranting hazardous environment precautions.
- It is unable to produce quality foodstuffs and must import them.
- It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society.
- It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Orret Subsector of Far Home Sector.
Astrography and Planetology
This star system is detailed using the Fringian Variant System Description.
- The Felu Mar system is a part of the Pador-Aredian Cluster.
- This world lies on the Pador-Peset Spur Star Lane.
- This world lies on the Void Edge Star Lane.
- The supergiant primary star of the Demon's Eye system and the huge Demon's Eye Nebula that surrounds it, lying a few parsecs to spinward-coreward, are clearly visible in the sky.

System Data
Gaspard-Felu Mar System
The primary is Gaspard, a tiny, dim dwarf star. It has a luminosity of 0.00003 Sols, a mass of 1.11 Sols, and a diameter of 8,350 km. (I-I) a vacuum worldlet, (I-II) Felu Mar, designated the mainworld, (II) an exotic atmosphere bigworld, and (IV) a small gas giant forms the outer system – orbital position (III) is empty. The gas giant retains satellites.
Gustave Subsystem
The companion is Gustave, a tiny, dim dwarf star that lies approximately 3,520 AU from Gustave. It has a luminosity of 0.00003 Sols, a mass of 1.04 Sols, and a diameter of 9,100 km. (I) a sparse icy planetoid belt forms the outer system.
Mainworld Data
(I-II) Felu Mar
(I-II) Felu Mar is designated the mainworld. It orbits Gaspard at a mean distance of 0.23 AU (34.4 million km), within the outer system. It has an orbital period of 38 days 6 hours: it is tidally locked to Gaspard. The axial tilt is 5 degrees. Felu Mar has a diameter of 2,433 km, a density of 2.96 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 0.10 G. Tidal stresses generated by the gravitational pull of Gaspard cause constant geological activity. Its atmosphere is rated as Vacuum. Approximately 11% of the surface is covered in sheets of water-ice. Mean surface temperature: -234°C.
Mainworld Geography and Topography
Total surface area: 18.6 million km², Land surface area: 16.6 million km², Ice surface area: 2 million km².
Native Lifeforms
No world in the Felu Mar system is known to have native life.
History & Background (Dossier)
No information yet available.
World starport
Felu Mar has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which includes amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
World technology level
Felu Mar possesses a Technology Level of TL–9.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Fiber optics and satellite communication and data networks.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early fusion power.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Ultra high-speed trains and early grav vehicles.
- Water: High efficiency sailcraft, multihulled seacraft, improved artificial gills.
- Air: Tiltrotorcraft, exotic VTOL's, PARWIG, and rocket-assisted suborbitals.
- Space: SSTO spacecraft, early military spacecraft (System Craft), and interstellar STL starships
- FTL: Prototype Jump Drive-1.
World government
Felu Mar is governed by a Feudal Technocracy. Society divides itself based on the technical requirements of the society. Each of these functions are granted as a fief to an individual or group. Leadership of these fiefs determines the head of the government.
