Farhaven is an agricultural, nonindustrial world still lacking adequate means to expand its economy.
- As an agricultural world, this world is a near-ideal environment for producing quality foodstuffs of plant, animal, and other forms. Quality foodstuffs are a major export commodity for this world.
- It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. Having to import most manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world.
- It is a member of the Firstworlds in the Esqua Subsector of Far Home Sector.
- This world is also commonly known as Depot (FH 1009).
Astrography and Planetology
This star system is detailed using the Fringian Variant System Description.
- The Farhaven system is a part of the Risa Cluster.

System Data
Halister-Farhaven System
The primary is Halister, an ordinary orange main sequence star. It has a luminosity of 0.284 Sols, a mass of 0.723 Sols, and a diameter of 1.073 million km. The inner system consists of (I-I) a very thin atmosphere radworld, (I-II) a trace atmosphere inner world, and (II) a corrosive atmosphere inferno world. (III) Farhaven orbits within the habitable zone and is designated the mainworld. (IV) an exotic atmosphere bigworld, (V) a trace atmosphere iceworld, (VI-I) an exotic atmosphere radworld, and (VI-II) a vacuum iceworld form the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.
Mainworld Data
(III) Farhaven
(III) Farhaven is designated the mainworld and orbits Halister at a mean distance of 0.58 AU (49.3 million km), within the habitable zone. It has an orbital period of 189 days 18 hours and a rotation period of 17.5 hours. The axial tilt is 16 degrees. Farhaven has a diameter of 9,636 km, a density of 4.89 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 0.69 G. The world is geologically very active. Its atmosphere is rated as Standard, Tainted, with a mean surface pressure of 0.85 bar and a composition of 82% nitrogen, 16% oxygen, 1% carbon dioxide, and 1% argon, sulfur dioxide, neon and other trace gases. The taint is caused by the low percentage of atmospheric oxygen and airborne sulfur compounds of volcanic origin. Approximately 48% of the surface is covered in seas of liquid water: average tidal ranges exceed 0.25m. Mean surface temperature: 31°C. The atmosphere is dynamic and powerful weather systems, driven by the star and the seas, drive across the globe. The climate is seasonal.
Satellite
Farhaven retains a single natural satellite, a trace atmosphere worldlet named Capstone:
- (IIIa) Capstone (UWP H210000-0, orbiting at 8 Diameters/77,000 km)
Mainworld Geography and Topography
Total surface area: 292 million km², Land surface area: 152 million km², Water surface area: 140 million km².
Native Lifeforms
Farhaven, the mainworld, has extensive, abundant native life, with complex organisms inhabiting every ecological niche. Their metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.

World starport
Farhaven has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which includes amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
