Falin is an agricultural, nonindustrial world still lacking adequate means to expand its economy.

• As an agricultural world, this world is a near-ideal environment for producing quality foodstuffs of plant, animal, and other forms. Quality foodstuffs are a major export commodity for this world.
• It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. Having to import most manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world.
• This is a "low technology" world with technology competencies well below technology standards for Charted Space.
• It is a member of the Protectorate of Leset in the Demon's Eye Subsector of Far Home Sector, which is part of the Distant Fringe.

Mardov-Falin System

The primary is Mardov, an ordinary orange main sequence star. It has a luminosity of 0.42 Sols, a mass of 0.825 Sols, and a diameter of 1.263 million km. The inner system consists of (I) a vacuum worldlet, (II-I) a vacuum inner world, and (II-II) a corrosive atmosphere inferno world. (III) Falin orbits within the habitable zone and is designated the mainworld. (IV) a very thin atmosphere hospitable world, (V) a very thin atmosphere radworld, (VI) a dense rocky planetoid belt, (VII) a ringed large gas giant, (VIII) a small gas giant, and (IX) a vacuum worldlet form the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.

(III) Falin is designated the mainworld. It orbits Mardov at a mean distance of 0.71 AU (106.3 million km), within the habitable zone. It has an orbital period of 240 days 14 hours and a retrograde rotation period of 33.5 hours. The axial tilt is 172 degrees. Falin has a diameter of 7,756 km, a density of 4.95 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 0.55 G. The world is geologically active. Its atmosphere is rated as Thin, with a mean surface pressure of 0.62 bar and a composition of 77% nitrogen (N₂), 22% oxygen (O₂), and 1% argon (Ar), water vapor (H₂O), carbon dioxide (CO₂), neon (Ne) and other trace gases. Approximately 41% of the surface is covered in seas of liquid water: average tidal ranges exceed 0.3m. Mean surface temperature: 12°C. The atmosphere is active and moderate weather systems driven by the star and the seas work across the globe. The climate is seasonal.

There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair.
