An Extinct Species is a lifeform which is no longer with us.
- It is thought to have died out altogether, no longer possessing any live representatives of its species.
- It is contrasted with an Extant Species, which is still alive.
Description (Specifications)
The term Extinct Species and its corollary Extant Species is used to describe the following lifeforms:
- Non-Sophonts or Creatures.
- Proto-Sophonts
- Sophonts at TL–0 or higher
A previously sophont species may regress or devolve into a non-sophont form.
History & Background (Dossier)
Such species have reached a state of extinction.
