An Extinct Species is a lifeform which is no longer with us.

  • It is thought to have died out altogether, no longer possessing any live representatives of its species.
  • It is contrasted with an Extant Species, which is still alive.

Description (Specifications)[edit]

The term Extinct Species and its corollary Extant Species is used to describe the following lifeforms:

A previously sophont species may regress or devolve into a non-sophont form.
