Evish-Dust System

The primary is Evish, an ordinary red main sequence star. It has a luminosity of 0.0136 Sols, a mass of 0.3626 Sols, and a diameter of 551,000 km.(I) Dust, designated the mainworld, (II) a trace atmosphere worldlet, (III) an exotic atmosphere bigworld, and (VI) a dense icy planetoid belt form the outer system – orbital positions (IV) and (V) are empty. The bigworld retains satellites.

(I) Dust

(I) Dust is designated the mainworld. It orbits Evish at a mean distance of 0.14 AU (20.9 million km), within the habitable zone. It has an orbital period of 31 days 19 hours: it is tidally locked to Evish. The axial tilt is 87 degrees. Dust has a diameter of 4,577 km, a density of 3.61 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 0.24 G. Tidal stresses generated by the gravitational pull of Evish cause frequent geological activity. Its atmosphere is rated as Very Thin, with a mean surface pressure of 0.33 bar and a composition of 77% nitrogen (N₂), 21% abiotic oxygen (O₂), 1% argon (Ar), and 1% water vapor (H₂O), carbon dioxide (CO₂), ozone (O₃), neon (Ne) and other trace gases. Dust is a desert world: less than 1% of the surface is covered in lakes of water kept liquid by geothermal activity. Mean surface temperature: -63°C. The climate is rated as Very Cold and is static, with no seasonal changes during the local year. The atmosphere is slow and minor weather systems driven by the star drift across the globe.

Mainworld Geography and Topography

Total surface area: 66 million km².

• The oxygen in the atmosphere is abiotic in origin, produced by the photocatalytic reaction between UV energy radiating from the star and titanium dioxide (TiO₂), which is found in surface minerals such as ilmenite.
• Dust is a Twilight Zone World.
• The world experiences libration, which causes the star to move in the sky and periodically rise and fall above the horizon in the twilight region.
