Durt is an agricultural, nonindustrial, and very rich garden world with a near-ideal, utopian environment conducive to most sophonts.
- As an agricultural world, this world is a near-ideal environment for producing quality foodstuffs of plant, animal, and other forms. Quality foodstuffs are a major export commodity for this world.
- It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. Having to import most manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world. However, a rich world like this one can afford the cost of importation.
- This is a rich world with a prosperous and thriving world economy.
- Its economy and population are growing and living conditions are expected to incrementally rise barring outside forces. The world will grow even quicker when its industrial sector begins to develop.
- This is a "low technology" world with technology competencies well below technology standards for Charted Space.
- It is a part of the Yimin Jiti in the Veesene Subsector of Halcyon Sector, which is part of the Distant Fringe.

System Data
Erth-Durt System
The primary is Erth, an ordinary yellow main sequence star. It has a luminosity of 0.886 Sols, a mass of 0.98 Sols, and a diameter of 1.391 million km. The inner system consists of (I) a vacuum worldlet, (II) exotic atmosphere radworld, and (III) a corrosive atmosphere inferno world. (IV) Durt orbits within the habitable zone and is designated the mainworld. (V) a thin atmosphere hospitable world, (VI) an exotic atmosphere stormworld, (VII) a ringed large gas giant, (VIII) an exotic atmosphere radworld, and (IX) a small ice giant form the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.
Mainworld Data
(III) Durt
(III) Durt is designated the mainworld. It orbits Erth at a mean distance of 0.73 AU (109.2 million km), within the habitable zone. It has an orbital period of 225 days 9 hours and a rotation period of 27.5 hours. The axial tilt is 21 degrees. Durt has a diameter of 9,517 km, a density of 5.11 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 0.69 G. The world is geologically active. Its atmosphere is rated as Standard, with a mean surface pressure of 0.79 bar and a composition of 77% nitrogen, 22% oxygen, and 1% argon, water vapour, carbon dioxide, neon and other trace gases. Approximately 54% of the surface is covered in oceans of liquid water: average tidal ranges exceed 0.25m. Mean surface temperature: 17°C. The atmosphere is active and strong weather systems driven by the star and the oceans sweep across the globe. The climate is seasonal.
Satellite
Durt retains a single natural satellite, a vacuum worldlet named Clod:
- (IIIa) Clod (UWP Y200000-0, orbiting at 35 Diameters/333,000 km)
Mainworld geography and topography
Total surface area: 285 million km², Water surface area: 154 million km², Land surface area: 131 million km².
Native lifeforms
Durt has extensive, abundant native life, with organisms inhabiting every ecological niche. Their metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.
History & Background (Dossier)

World starport
Durt has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which includes amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
World technology level
Durt possesses a Technology Level of TL–5.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Telephone, radio, and television.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Electricity, hydrocarbon internal combustion, and the most fundamental atomic energy.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Ground cars or automobiles and tracked vehicles.
- Water: Large ships and submersibles with steel hulls.
- Air: Early aircraft including seaplanes and very early unmanned rockets.
World government
Durt is governed by a Civil Service Bureaucracy. The leadership of the government is another form (democracy, dictatorship, oligarchy), but the bureaucracy leadership influences policy. The government leadership may select the bureaucracy leadership, but not its membership. Usually the governmental leadership is divided, or incapable of setting policy and the bureaucracy provides a stabilizing influence. The bureaucracy may be the full government bureaucracy or a section with limited jurisdiction but considerable influence like the military.
