A Duchy is an administrative grouping of systems, very often confined to a single subsector, but often encompassing several subsectors.

Description (Specifications)

A Duchy or Dukedom is associated with one primary world (usually one of importance, a mainworld), and is usually associated with additional nearby core worlds on which the associated Duke will have significant holdings.

Ducal Land Grants

  • The land grant of a High Landed Duke will typically be the equivalent of 64 terrain hexes on various worlds spread across the sector to which the Duchy belongs, and an equivalent number of terrain hexes on non-mainworlds within the same star systems as the associated hexes.
  • The land grant of a High Landed Subsector Duke will typically be the equivalent of 128 terrain hexes on various worlds spread across the sector to which the Duchy belongs, and an equivalent number of terrain hexes on non-mainworlds within the same star systems as the associated hexes.
  • A Duchy may contain a specific land-grant of up to 100,000 km2 on territory associated with the core world(s).

History & Background (Dossier)
