Dorannia has a tainted unbreathably thin atmosphere and very little surface water. The system has a population between 10,000 and 10 million, lacking the industrial base to be completely self-supporting. It is a Human dominated Non-Aligned world in the Darrian Subsector of Spinward Marches Sector.

Astrography & Planetology

Dorannia's main resource is the world’s large deposits of radioactive ores, though the mining operations have never attracted a significant population or large companies. The government keeps firm control of all exports, imports and mining rights.

History & Background (Dossier)

The world's name is also spelled Dorianna.

Dorannia is a 'rockball' world, naturally uninhabitable. Nevertheless, it is home to several hundred thousand people who dwell in sealed environments. The world is popularly known as "Atomic Dorannia", as it's famous for its exports of fissionables and devices based upon nuclear energy. In the 1100s, the world government also implemented a defensive strategy based on the liberal use of nuclear missiles, which deterred raiders but made ship captains rather more wary of visiting even for legitimate purposes.
