The Domain of Vland is one of the Domains of the Imperium.

Description (Specifications)

The Domain consists of four sectors: Corridor, Dagudashaag, Gushemege, and Vland.

Major Historical Events Timeline: 1116

Selected events:

  • (0): Imperial borders include: Corridor 0%, Dagudashaag 10%, Gushemege 10%, Vland 15%.[3]
  • (60): The Imperial colonization of the Spinward Marches begins with the settlement of Mora,[4] and one of the largest mass migrations since the post-Interstellar Wars diaspora begins. As all emigrants had to run a gauntlet of Vargr states in the Corridor Sector, the sector is awash with corsairs awaiting opportunity to ambush colonists headed spinward.[3]
  • (76): Domain of Vland established by Emperor Artemsus. Integration into Imperium: Corridor 0%, Dagudashaag 40%, Gushemege 30%, Vland 40%.[3]
  • (76 to 112): As part of the Vilani Pacification Campaign, the Gushemege and Dagudashaag sectors are targeted for complete incorporation into the Imperium. Most of Dagudashaag absorbed peacefully.[1]
  • (ca. 125): The Lancian cultural region in Gushemege Sector is resettled from Vland sector under a special program sponsored by Makhidkarun after being extensively ravaged during the Vilani Pacification Campaigns.[5]
  • (153 & 160): First and second Rydel expeditions to locate a jump route across the Great Reft from Corridor Sector to Deneb Sector; both end in failure.[6]
  • (ca. 160): First Corridor Sector worlds are incorporated into the Imperium including Divad (Corridor 2238).[3][7]
  • (200): Integration into Imperium: Corridor 10%, Dagudashaag 85%, Gushemege 85%, Vland 80%.[3]
  • (220 to 348): A series of wars and conflicts between the Imperium and the various Vargr states in the Vland and Corridor sectors (as well as Deneb) along the coreward edge of the Imperium, collectively known as the Vargr Corridor Campaigns.[8]
  • (ca. 300): Vland (Vland 1717) achieves TL 11[9] while the highest common technology available within the Third Imperium reaches TL 13.[10]
  • (385): During the First Survey, the IISS discovers a working Ancients site on Antiquity (Corridor 0816).[6]
  • (ca. 500): Vland (Vland 1717) achieves TL 13[9]
  • (ca. 617 & 630) During the Civil War, the Brinn reclaim their home system of Divad (Corridor 2238) and slaughter every human being trapped in their system. Approximately 15 years later, the Imperium recapture Divad and institute harsh martial law.[7]
  • (ca. 625): Imperial Navy constructs a major naval base in the Theton (Vland 3107) system.[11]
  • (654): Kaaribilanidin (Vland Club) founded on Vland (Vland 1717) to lobby, in the wake of the Civil War, for more Vilani influence on Imperial policies.[12]
  • (ca. 800): After 500 serious years of study, the Ancients site on Antiquity (Corridor 0816) is opened to the public as a tourist site.[6]
  • (1101): An accident seals up the Ancient site on Antiquity (Corridor 0806).[13]
