The world’s inhabitants are crowded into one of three great arcologies, each led by a religious council advising a single planetary leader. The population is almost entirely made up of devotees of a variant of Islam. A religious dispute in 1102 marked the start of the bloody “Three-Way War,” which still rages in 1105.
