Dishalu has a scarcity of water and a relatively sparse atmosphere. The system has a population in the 10s of millions of sophonts. Government control of this world is by an external military force. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Khandi Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Domain of Vland. Dishalu, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight, a member of the Imperial Nobility charged with overseeing the world. This world has a nearby Imperial Naval Base, capable of handling warships. During the Long Night this world was named Kanne.

Astrography and planetology

Dishalu is a small planet with a thin atmosphere that is only breathable unassisted half a kilometer below sea level. As a consequence all the settlements are build deep in the Gejiu F'har trench. The trench is a massive ten kilometer wide scar that circumnavigates the planet's northern hemisphere. In places the trench is over twenty five kilometers deep. The settlers have carved their cities into the walls of the trench. The rest of Dishalu is a relatively barren planet, with only lichen and mosses living on the surface. The trench supports an extensive ecosystem, with insects and a number of fliers.

History and background

Dishalu's major export is its young people, sent off-world as courtesans or Houri on a ten-year indenture. Once the indenture is completed, they are allowed to return and marry. They are in great demand and much sought after as companions. The training houses, which all Dishalun's must attend from the age of three until their indenture. As schools, the students are taught skills and disciplines to act as companions, teachers, bodyguards, and advisers to their contractors. Houri are, by contract and culture, forbidden from marrying non-Dishalun's through many contractors do try and retain their companions for life.

Point of Interest: Shabhai Ryi City

The primary settlement of this world is Shabhai Ryi, situated three quarters of a kilometer below the surface. The city houses over twenty million people, and carved deep into the blood-red stone. The port extends extends out of the trench walls on several platforms. Elevators run on the outside of the city giving a spectacular view of the trench floor twenty kilometers below.
