+ | Dagudashaag is an old sector with a long history leading back to the First Imperium and before. Old empires dotted the area inhabited by Vilani rebels escaping the empire, indigenous humans possibly of Ancients geneering origin, as well as a number of intelligent non-human species. In those early days, the area was a morass of pirates, small feuding pocket empires, and both interspecies and internecine conflict. The ruins of ancient and extinct species provide a constant source of interest to locals academics, historians, and explorers. Despite the area's long history of sophont civilization, new discoveries frequently appear on the news weeklies of far traders, x-boat transmissions, and by that venerated source of communication, word of mouth. The area is far from being fully known and still possesses many a secret.

+ | Dagudashaag Sector is known for having a particularly large number of Population I, or metal-rich stars with widespread and very rich resources and many inhabitable worlds.
− | + | The Sector is linked to the Vilani Main through both Mimu Subsector (this segment of the Vilani Main is known locally as the Slavers Reach Route and carries through into Gushemege’s Tansa Subsector) and through Iiradu Subsector (where it is known as the Plague Way), overspilling into Core. The Sylean Main extends into the Sector through Kuiishe and Gadde Subsectors (the main route is known as the Kuriishe Main) as well as through the Bunkeria Pinnacle. The Sylean Main also links through Laraa Subsector (the Jump-1 route known locally as either the Laraa Main or the Kadushi Cluster) which extends through the sector into Zarushagar Sector. The only other Jump-1 link with Zarushagar Sector is through the Rimward cluster of stars in Bolivar and Argi Subsectors known as the Ilelish Trail. As well as the Slavers Reach Route, Gushemege’s Lancian Cultural Region is linked by Jump-1 to the Spinward edge of both Mimu and Shallows Subsectors through the chain of systems known as the Tansa Edge or Lancian Rim. In the heart of the Sector, isolated by Jump-2 is the Medurman Main, which dominates eight Subsectors and links approximately half the sector. This starlane has a number of local designations. The Medurma Main (the segment best known as the Corsair’s Chain) also overflows into Gushemege at the Zeda/Shire border. Again a small cluster of stars on Bolivar’s Spinward edge extends into Gushemege’s Lagan Subsector.

Dagudashaag style="width: 250px; height: 350px; border: solid 1px black; float: right; clear: left" |
Dagudashaag (dah-guh-dah-shag) is a corruption and contraction of the Old High Vilani term for the region - Dakhukuga Gulike Dushaage, which means Rimward Galactic Province. This term refers to the sector's astrographical position, relative to Vland Sector.
Description (Specifications)[edit]
Systems in this sector bear the traces of many waves of settlement and occupation over the life of the Galaxy. Several indigenous species originated in the sector and it was further colonized by outside sophonts. The Vilani moved in and dominated the astrographic region until they were, in turn, dominated by the Second Imperium. The Second Imperium later fell, creating the Long Night, which eventually led to the Third Imperium.
The sector today is known as a core sector of the Third Imperium, an important transportation hub, and an industrial powerhouse of technology incubation and high-tech manufacturing prowess. It is also known for a number of competing power blocks, a dense population, and relatively large number of native sophonts. The picture many newcomers have of the sector is of a grey, featureless expanse of factory systems filled with grey, humourless Vilani. Nothing could be further from the truth.
Dagudashaag is a sector of contrasts, from the soaring, fusion-carved mountains and glittering city-warrens of Medurma, to the floating dreamworlds of Ushra (Dagudashaag 1016), to the sulphur volcanoes of Lenashuuk (Dagudashaag 1640), the macroengineering of the beanstalk on Gateway (Dagudashaag 1331), and the unspoilt plains of Kaurga (Dagudashaag 1118).
The social structure of Dagudashaag is equally varied. Arrive at any starport, and you will encounter the sibilant speech of S'mrii, the strangely striped visages of Ziadd, small bureaucratic Bwap, enigmatic Droyne, the penetrating gazes of Scanians, and the towering, richly-robed figures of Aslan merchants amongst others.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Ancient tensions and rivalries between the many population groups of the sector, dating back to the Vilani Consolidation Wars and before, give this sector the complex social map it has today.
Sites have been unearthed in Remnants subsector, which have provided artifacts dating back more than 40 million years. Although the mysterious Ancients were not as active in Dagudashaag as in the Deneb Domain, several sites have been found including Anomaly (Dagudashaag 1633).
The S'mrii, a reptilian race native to the coreward/spinward regions of this sector, achieved spaceflight some twenty-seven thousand years ago, and despite a number of setbacks, they had a thriving interstellar federation by the time they were contacted by the Vilani nearly ten thousand years ago.
While there have been many civilizations, species, and polities in Dagudashaag, the area has been dominated by the Third Imperium for well over a millennia.
Dagudashaag is an old sector with a long history leading back to the First Imperium and before.

Trade Routes (Physical & Socioeconomic Astrography)[edit]
Dagudashaag Sector is known for having a particularly large number of Population I, or metal-rich stars with widespread and very rich resources and many inhabitable worlds.
The Sector is linked to the Vilani Main through both Mimu Subsector (this segment of the Vilani Main is known locally as the Slavers Reach Route and carries through into Gushemege’s Tansa Subsector) and through Iiradu Subsector (where it is known as the Plague Way), overspilling into Core.

It has been extensively developed since Milieu 0 and the birth of the Third Imperium. In 1116, it is a rich, industrial powerhouse of manufacturing, trade, and technological research. Dagudashaag exports a fair quantity of its output to the less-developed sectors of Gushemege and Zarushagar.
The sector is the industrial centre of Vland Domain, and its GSP (Gross Sector Product) has been known to exceed that of its parent, Vland Sector. The area was significantly developed by the Vilani of the First Imperium and transformed from a squabbling batch of pocket empires into a well developed region. Subsequent settlement by the Solomani has created a strong economic “axis” to the sector, roughly along a line between Mimu, Medurma and Argi subsectors.
A number of power blocks presently exist within the sector At least two major power blocs predate Vilani influence and still exist in the area:
- Lancian League
- S'mrii ConSentiency
- The Ziadd, a powerful, but poorly organized minor human race, represent another political and social grouping with high ambition coupled with a keen intelligence and sharp trade sensibilities. The last organized Ziadd polity was the Zeda Alignment before the Third Imperium forcibly integrated the Ziadd into the Imperial fold. Understated discrimination against the Ziadd causes resentment against Imperial authorities and many Ziadd observe the Geonee, Luriani, and other imperial cultural regions with both admiration and envy.
- The Amec Trade Protectorate, arose from later Terran and Solomani influence under the Second Imperium and its successors.
The conflict and interplay between these groups as well as the Syleans and Third Imperium loyalists means that this sector is always brimming with debate, arguments, and tension creating a vibrant area of trade, cultural exchange, and sometimes low-level warfare. Throw in a few assertive megacorporations combined with outside influences and the sector keeps Imperial intelligence very busy. Aslan, Hiver, and Vargr traders and diplomatic missions from outside the Imperium are frequently encountered amongst the systems and worlds of this sector. Even Zhodani and occasionally K'kree can be encountered within this sector.
