Collette has a tainted unbreathably thin atmosphere and very little surface water. The system has a population between 10,000 and 10 million, lacking the industrial base to be completely self-supporting. This system serves as the capital for the subsector. This is a high technology world with available technology over the standards for Charted Space. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Gadde Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Domain of Vland. Collette, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight, a member of the Imperial Nobility charged with overseeing the world. The system supports both an Imperial Naval Base and a Scout Base with the additional starship traffic. During the Long Night this world was named Madaa. Halthome is a secondary world within the Collette system.

Description (Astrography & Planetology)

Collette is a member of the Dagudashaag Main. The naval base hosts elements of the 219th Fleet.

Visitors to Collette should note that due to the abundant presence of Spindrift Tree bark fibers in the atmosphere filter and eye protection is required at all times. The constantly shedding plants are found over most of the world's surface. The microscopic fibers cause allergic reactions and skin irritation on exposure and may cause lung damage on prolonged exposure.

System Data

The Collette system contains nine major bodies (of which four are gas giants), numerous minor bodies, and one planetoid belt.

Halthome (world) is an important, inhabited secondary world within the system. It is the outermost satellite of the large gas giant Yoshua.

History & Background (Dossier)

Subsector Capital of Gadde, the Ducal palace and Imperial Subsector administrative headquarters are located in Salome City.

Collette has been the site of a small scale colony since -5100. Major development of the planet occurred following the founding of the Third Imperium. Several corporations including Drach-Kehisen and Sternmetal Horizons established major mining operations in the late 300s.

Collette became the subsector capital in 421, following pressure by Sternmetal who believed such a move would give them a number of tax advantages.

The world hosts the Vance Brand Naval Base. The naval base is one of the most advanced bases within the sector. The operating orbital docks are capable of handing all classes of Imperial warships. It also houses the CINC for the 219th Fleet, the 75th Naval ordinance development section, and the Trailing Dagudashaag logistics & strategic planning section.

It also hosts the William Sinnott Regional Data Processing Center, operated by the Traveller News Service agency for the collation of news, reference material, and information throughout the Dagudashaag and Core sectors. The center is also renowned for its work in pseudoreality simulation systems.
