The Cleashitar of Pen-Latol's World (Theta Borealis 3107) are a Minor Non-Human Race with a semi-humanoid appearance

  • They are considered to be technologically developing.

Description (Specifications)[edit]

The Cleashitar are generally humanoid and exhibit bilateral symmetry. They have a head, a torso, two legs ending in wide short feet, and two upper arms that each divide into two lower arms at the elbow (effectively giving them six limbs). A number of long sensory antennae grow from the top of the head.

Although they are all members of the same species, Cleashitar from different regions of the world have markedly different physiologies. Most notable of these are differences in the structures of the arms (with some ending in hands and others ending in claws), the shape of the head and the presence or absence of hair, and the thickness and texture of skin on the torso.

  • Upland Cleashitar tend to have a lighter build, smoother bodies, less hair, and a noticeable prevalence towards four hands.
  • Lowland Cleashitar tend to have a heavier build, far thougher hides, far more hair, and a prevalence towards two hands and two claws.

Psychology[edit]

The Cleashitar exhibit recognized characteristics of intelligence:

  • Conceptual thought, including abstract language.
  • Social structure, including social organization.
  • Tool use, allowing environmental manipulation.

Cleashitar psychology is driven by factors common to many sophonts:

  • Acquisition (stemming from the need to gather adequate nutrition),
  • Preservation (derived from the need to continue their personal existence), and
  • Perpetuation (the urge to continue the species).

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

The Cleashitar live among the ruins of an extinct civilization.

  • At its height, the former Cleashitar civilization had a population numbering in the hundreds of millions.
  • It was technologically sophisticated, reckoned to be at least TL–4.
  • The reasons for its demise are unknown.

The surface of their homeworld is dotted with ruins and remains that are believed to be thousands of years old.

  • Almost no research into the origins and history of the Cleashitar has taken place.

Tribal Groups[edit]

Known tribes include the Bret-Mel-Tip; Sans-Mel-Cam; Tril-Mel-Volg; the stationary Cimon-Mun (AKA Those Who Build); and the Maz-Dreloz, who are a specialist tribe of shamans and "historians".
