System Data
Cho System
The primary is an unnamed ordinary orange main sequence star. It has a luminosity of 0.284 Sols, a mass of 0.723 Sols, and a diameter of 1.073 million km. The inner system consists of (I) a vacuum inner world, and (II) an exotic atmosphere radworld. (III) Cho orbits within the habitable zone and is designated the mainworld. (IV) a small gas giant, (V) a ringed large gas giant, (VI) a dense stony planetoid belt, (VII) a large gas giant, and (VIII) a small ice giant form the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.
Mainworld Data
(III) Cho
(III) Cho is designated the mainworld. It orbits the primary at a mean distance of 0.63 AU (94.3 million km), within the habitable zone. It has an orbital period of 214 days 19 hours and a rotation period of 22 hours. The axial tilt is 164 degrees. Cho has a diameter of 7,522 km, a density of 5.07 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 0.54 G. The world is geologically active. Its atmosphere is rated as Thin, with a mean surface pressure of 0.72 bar and a composition of 78% nitrogen (N2), 20% oxygen (O2), 1% argon, (Ar), and 1% carbon dioxide (CO2), xenon (Xe), water vapor (H2O), neon (Ne) and other trace gases. Approximately 42% of the surface is covered in seas of liquid water: average tidal ranges exceed 0.4m. Mean surface temperature: 3°C. The climate is rated as Temperate-Cool and experiences minor seasonal changes during the local year. The atmosphere is slow and moderate weather systems driven by the star and the seas work across the globe.
Satellite
Cho retains a single natural satellite, a trace atmosphere worldlet named Sung:
- (IIIa) Sung (known UWP ?110???-?, orbiting at 5 Diameters/37,000 km)
Mainworld Geography and Topography
Total surface area: 178 million km², Land surface area: 103 million km², Water surface area: 75 million km².
Native Lifeforms
Cho System
Cho, the mainworld, lying within the habitable zone, has extensive native life, consisting of microscopic organisms, stromatolite-parallels and primitive flora that can be found in almost every ecological niche. Their metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.
No other world in the system is known to have native life.
History & Background (Dossier)
The Cho system has been studied by the Local Astrographical Survey Project, a part of the Astronomy Department of the University of Selasia.
