Capital is a high-population world with a billion or more sophonts in population size.

Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]

Capital is the central world of the Imperium and seat of government since its founding. Situated in the center of the Imperium, Capital's astrographical position has proven of prime importance as a communications hub, a cultural center, and an industrial focus.

System Data[edit]

Zhimaway is a gas giant in the Sylea system. [2]

Mainworld Data[edit]

The planet is a pleasant world, 7,600km in diameter and with a surface gravity of approximately 0.7G.

  • The atmosphere is a dense mixture of oxygen and nitrogen.
  • Three fifths of the planetary surface is covered by water oceans, with five major continents and one minor continent including five large islands and nine archipelagos.
  • Capital has a rotational period of 24h 4m 1s and an orbital period of 364.97 standard days, with an axial tilt of approximately 20.5°.

Mainworld Size (S)[edit]

No information yet available.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]

Capital has a pressure of 1.50 to 2.49 atmospheres. A Dense Atmosphere requires no survival gear although it may be hard on sophonts not accustomed to it.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]

No information yet available.

Mainworld Geography & Topography[edit]

Capital (the planet once known as Sylea) is a moderate-sized world with a lot of people, compounded by the fact that a little more than half its surface is water. A lot means eighty billion; moderate-sized means, after subtracting water, about eight billion hectares.

  • 10% A tenth is devoted to food production (long ago, that was two-tenths, but that was long ago): it is impractical (if not impossible) to import food for billions of people.
  • 20% Two-tenths is mountain, canyon, rock, and crag.
  • 20% Another two-tenths is snowlands: both support scattered communities, but certainly no appreciable population density.
  • 50% Half the land is urban, four billion hectares for 80 billion people: perhaps 20 per hectare, 2,000 per square kilometer. Terribly crowded, oppressive, single-level urban areas make do with such densities over a few hundred square kilometers. Capital maintains such densities across all its settled lands. Yet. For many, Capital is a pleasant environment, an attractive community. High-rise and plunging arcologies house millions in high-density comfort and safety: the masses of the bureaucracy that drive the engines of the empire must live in comfort and safety.

Mainworld Map[edit]

No information yet available.

Native Lifeforms[edit]

The world is teeming with life.

  • Gnudabik lowland ecology

Native Sophont (NIL): Syleans[edit]

The Syleans are a Minor Human Race, who were contacted by the Vilani and made part of the First Imperium. A small group of rebellious Syleans were kept on reservations.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

This is a high population world in Core Subsector of Core Sector.

It is the location of an Imperial Data Repository. It is a treasure trove of secrets and sensitive data.

  • The site is heavily guarded. Access to the information it contains is carefully controlled.

Imperial Landed Nobility (N)[edit]

Capital, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estates of five members of the Imperial Nobility, who are charged with overseeing the world.

World Starport (Sp)[edit]

Capital has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

World Population (P)[edit]

No information yet available.

World Demographics[edit]

Eighty billion sentients inhabit Capital, mostly members of Humaniti, a number which has remained fairly constant through the entire Third Imperium.

  • Of these, thirty-six percent are primarily racial Vilani, eleven percent are Solomani and fifty percent are native Syleans, and the remaining three percent consists of a mixture of various human and non-human minor races.

World Government (G)[edit]

Capital is governed by an Impersonal Bureaucracy. The leadership of the government is another form (democracy, dictatorship, oligarchy), but the bureaucracy dictates government policy and its execution. Government leadership is reduced to little more than figureheads and does not select the bureaucracy leadership or its members.

World Law Level (L)[edit]

Capital has a high law level with laws covering many areas of interactions of people, corporations, and the government. A few worlds with this law level may be Amber Zones. Any interaction with the judicial system requires an Advocate trained in the local legal system. Law enforcement is present almost everywhere, either as people or via technology. Legal proceedings can take weeks to months to resolve and involve a dozen or more people. All blade weapons and firearms, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.

Law level 8: Long bladed weapons controlled; open possession prohibited

World Technology Level (TL)[edit]

Capital possesses a Technology Level of TL–15 or TL-F in Hexadecimal Notation.

Capital/Sylea is the home of the Imperial Sylean University and the University of Sylea[3]

World Military[edit]

The system hosts a Naval Base and a Scout Way Station.

World Economy[edit]

Capital has a gross planetary product of 1,438,927 BCr, over one quadrillion credits. Its per-capita income is therefore 17,986 Credits, nearly three times the Imperial average, reflecting the extra trade and prestige accompanying its political role. As such, it accounts for over 1% of the entire economic output of the Imperium.

Economic Extension (Ex):

  • Resources: Extremely Abundant (H)
    • (Resources are any materials available for processing and exploitation. They include natural resources, minerals, ores, metals, energy sources, biological assets, and any other materials of limited availability.)
  • Labor: Billions (9)
    • (Labor is the workforce available for the processing and exploitation of Resources.)
  • Infrastructure: Extremely Comprehensive (G)
    • (Infrastructure is the established technical structures that support exploitation of resources. Infrastructure includes roads, power grids, communications, and factories.)
  • Efficiency +/-4 (4)
    • (Efficiency reflects the current economic system, and includes sensible legal procedures, appropriate tariffs, customs promoting a balanced work ethic, rewards for merit, and social structures which match ability and job. Negative Efficiency is worse. Efficiency at -1 or less turn the RUs available negative: the Inefficiencies are so destructive as to make the economy a net drain. Such barriers represent a welfare state; cultural influences which do not value wealth, even physical limitations. On the other hand, since some economies have positive efficiencies: positive multipliers increasing available RU. )

Economic Extension:

  • (The Economic Extension (Ex) is the strength of a world economy and provides basic insights into the economy’s structure and capabilities.)
  • Resource Units- +/-TBD
    • (The world's budget.)

Trade Data[edit]

No information yet available.

Urbanization[edit]

  • Capital has 5 primary cities:
  • Benca (Class A starport / population 6 billion)
  • Cleon (Class A starport / population 4 billion)
  • Mifa Lanco (Class A starport / population 3 billion)
  • Turthu (Class A starport / population 9 billion)
  • Ton Vorn (orbital complex) (Class A starport / population 5 billion)
  • Capital has 28 secondary cities (Class F spaceports / population 30 billion total)
  • Capital has 135 tertiary cities (Class H spaceports / population 23 billion total)

World Infrastructure[edit]

This world possesses Extremely Comprehensive (G) infrastructure.

World Culture[edit]

  • Progressiveness: Conservative and Indifferent
  • Aggressiveness: Unaggressive and Peaceable
  • Extensiveness: Harmonious and Friendly

Cultural Extension (Cx):

  • Homogeneity: Discordant (A)
    • (Homogeneity is a measure of the degree to which members of society hold common beliefs. Members of very homogeneous cultures are in strong agreement on the fundamentals of society (usually basic rights, religion, and methods of interaction). Members of non-homogeneous cultures hold many different beliefs on the fundamentals of society.)
  • Acceptance: Extremely xenophilic (E)
    • (Acceptance is the degree of xenophobia ( or xenophilia ) in the culture. High Acceptance is evidenced by friendliness to outsiders and offworlders; Low Acceptance is characterized by fear or rejection of outsiders.)
  • Strangeness: Distinct (5)
    • (Strangeness is the degree of difference from the norms of interstellar society. High Strangeness is evidenced by unusual or outwardly incomprehensible actions, statements, or responses in the course daily activity. Low Strangeness reflects activities close to interstellar norms.)
  • Symbols: Extremely abstract (F)
    • (Symbols used by the culture may range from the concrete (idols; totems; statuary) to the abstract (symbolized belief systems; group affiliations).)

World Language/s[edit]

Historical Data[edit]

No information yet available.

World Timeline[edit]

No information yet available.

History-Era: Rebellion[edit]

Under the divided Imperium, with no emperor officially proclaimed by action of the Moot, Capital is a head without a brain, and the separate domains of the Imperium have been forced to fend for themselves under the independent leadership of their local archdukes.

  • Once the current political turmoil has settled down and the Imperium is reunited, Capital will again take its place as the centerpiece of human civilization.
