Description (Specifications)
The Bwampb are a minor race native to Angudh (Gvurrdon 0401). This race is unusual, mainly due to the hostility of their home world; Angudh is an ice world, deadly to most other races.
Physiology
Bwampb are large, weighing about 400kg; the female is slightly larger. They are carnivorous, using Psionic lures to trap prey.
When prey grew scarcer on their home world, the Bwampb began to domesticate animals for food. This led to sentience. Evolving on a world with temperatures in the far sub zero range, has trapped this race on their home planet.
Bwampb have six limbs, the forward pair has evolved into arms, which are strong and stocky, making them appear comically clumsy. The head is small, apparently too small for such a large body; however their brain is not situated in the head, but in the chest cavity. The lack of brain in the head makes it flat and narrow, with two dish-like ears standing out from the sides of the head.
Bwampb breathe a mix of hydrogen and chlorine, a mix which would usually classify them as an active race burning energy at high rate. However, this has been found to not be the case. The skin of the Bwampb is leathery and yellow, with an iridescent green tinge. They have two eyes looking straight forward, but their eyesight is poor. Their visual accuity is strong however; they can detect movement much more easily than they can detect colour or shape.
History & Background (Dossier)
Contact with the Vargr helped the Bwampb to develop more and more advanced technology.
Social Organization
Bwampb don’t wear clothes on their home world, but for ease of identification for off-worlders, they sometimes wear a colored bandolier or sash.
Technology & Trade
Contact with the Vargr helped the Bwampb to develop more and more advanced technology.
Evolving on a world with temperatures in the far sub zero range, has trapped this race on their home planet. That has not however stopped them from developing their own space program.
