System Data
Candell-Bolid System
The primary is Candell, a yellow subgiant star. It has a luminosity of 5.22 Sols, a mass of 1.95 Sols, and a diameter of 3.813 million km. The inner system consists of (I) a vacuum worldlet, (II) a trace atmosphere worldlet, (III) a trace atmosphere inner world, (IV) a corrosive atmosphere inferno world, and (V) a very thin atmosphere hospitable world. (VI) Bolid orbits within the habitable zone and is designated the mainworld. (VII) a dense rocky planetoid belt, and (VIII) an exotic atmosphere bigworld form the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.
Mainworld Data
(VI) Bolid
(VI) Bolid is designated the mainworld. It orbits Candell at a mean distance of 2.72 AU (406.9 million km), within the habitable zone. It has an orbital period of 3 years 78 days and a rotation period of 35 hours. The axial tilt is 44 degrees. Bolid has a diameter of 8,527 km, a density of 4.84 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 0.59 G. The world is geologically active. Its atmosphere is rated as Standard, Tainted, with a mean surface pressure of 0.96 bar and a composition of 77% nitrogen (N2), 22% oxygen (O2), and 1% argon (Ar), water vapor (H2O), carbon dioxide (CO2), neon (Ne) and other trace gases. The taint is caused by allergenic spores and pollens of organic origin. Approximately 81% of the surface is covered in oceans of liquid water: average tidal ranges exceed 0.25m. Mean surface temperature: 29°C. The atmosphere is active and moderate weather systems driven by the star and the oceans drive across the globe. The climate is seasonal.
Mainworld Geography and Topography
Total surface area: 228 million km², Water surface area: 185 million km², Land surface area: 43 million km².
Native Lifeforms
The hot marginally hospitable world lying in orbital position (V) (within the H– region of the inner system) has primitive native life, consisting entirely of microscopic cyanobacteria-parallels that exist in any location where they can find even a minimal trace of shelter and moisture. Their metabolic functions maintain the process of atmospheric renewal.
Lerant, the mainworld, lying within the habitable zone, has extensive, abundant native life, with complex organisms inhabiting every ecological niche. Their metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.
