The Benedict class Tracked MICV is a TL-6 Armored Fighting Vehicle.
- It is a military vehicle and a mechanized infantry combat vehicle.
Description (Specifications)[edit]
The Benedict class Tracked MICV, TL-6: The vehicle has a maximum of 51.9 cm of hard steel armor. The front chassis armor is radically sloped. Designers wanted to ensure good cross-country mobility, so a massive set of tracks were installed, rated to support up to 207 tons of vehicle. The vehicle weight exceeds that rating and requires more maintenance. Despite that, it still never gets stuck under any cross-country conditions. Fortunately, the ICE power plant can generate 10.5 MW of power to produce decent speed. As a result, this vehicle can keep up with some of its contemporaries. The vehicle is sealed with life support for 10 to protect against CBR/NBC threats. There is a pintel mounted HMG with a gunshield over the commander's hatch in the top of the turret. The main gun is a 17cm hypervelocity cannon with a coaxial LMG. An experimental, light TAC missile launcher is also included in the turret.
Basic Vehicle Characteristics[edit]
Following the Imperial Army and IISS Universal Vehicle Profile and data, additional information is presented in the format shown here. The small craft factor indicates the number of squadrons (of ten craft) carried on the vehicle when applicable. Tonnage on the universal vehicle profile is shown in kilotons (thousands of tons) where necessary.
#. | Category | Remarks |

TAC Missile[edit]
There is a single 12kg capacity launch tube in the turret. The missile uses a massive 2kg 12cm HEAP 38 warhead and a single crew member can manually reload these missiles if additional rounds are available or carried in the cargo space. The operator guided missile has a +1 to hit DM, a 4km range (a limit of the guidance system). The missile is very small, extremely inexpensive and the warhead is considered under-powered. It is carried, predominately to extend the vehicles threat radius, until targets can be engaged at shorter ranges with 17cm main gun rounds with higher penetration. A single missile is included with the purchase price.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
The Benedict class Tracked MICV was designed and manufactured at TL–6, these vehicles are manufactured for the Tenjada Moralitate in Mavuzog and Theta Borealis Sectors. The TL–6 Cosada Marines had a requirement for a vacuum capable armed ATV. This vehicle is capable of limited protected forces duty but has limitations. The hard steel hull armor falls short of the standards for starship hulls and doesn't provide the shielding versus radiation that is considered necessary for protracted vacuum duty. The electrical motor and battery array was experimented with in conjunction with a closed loop fuel cell. These proved problematic to get the required power output to move the mass. The air breathing, internal combustion engine is reliable but at the rated megawatt output consumes massive amounts of distilled hydrocarbons. This limits the operational duration and range. The Cosada high command wanted a tracked tank built on the scale of a massive ATV. The result is a tank turret wedded to a huge, high profile vehicle. The six infantry dismounts bring the vehicle "squad" size up to ten, but the lack of boots on the ground mean two vehicles must survive long enough to get a descent sized infantry squad to the FEBA.
The weight and resulting ground pressure exceeds the 207 ton limit recommendations for the installed tracked suspension. This means the system requires more maintenance and suffers more breakdowns. Bridges and highways crumble under the 280 ton mass. While sealed with life support the air breathing engine limits fording depth and vehicle launched bridges and rails lines can't bear its weight. They are delivered fully fueled.
