BeastMasters, LIC is a subsector wide firm based on Unxava (Deneb 1337).

  • They are an animal/livestock supply firm, specialising in working animals and bloodstock improvements both through selective breeding and genetic engineering.
  • There is also a small but profitable sideline in exotic pets.

Description (Portfolio)

BeastMasters have modified many animals to allow them to be kept on many different worlds adapting them for differences in atmosphere, gravity and foodstuffs. They have also increased the hardiness and intelligence of guard/hunting animals and riding/draught animals for low tech worlds.

Although BeastMasters do practice Genetic modification they are not in the business of creating Uplifted species so the animals are clever rather than truly intelligent. (Having said this however there are always rumours and stories going around).

Often new breeds/species are shipped to worlds with their own handlers employed by BeastMasters, and once established on a new world the initial blood stock is sold at a reduced price to enlarge and extend their foothold in the market.
