Bathur is a ring of many small worldlets (planetoids AKA an "asteroid belt"), not capable of retaining an atmosphere or water, and nonindustrial in nature.
- These worldlets warrant hazardous environment precautions.
- Life in a vacuum requires great discipline. After all, it only takes one forgotten seal on a vacuum suit to spell death. Those who survive tend to be very methodically-minded and attentive to small detail.
- The worldlets require extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. Having to import most manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world.
- It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Demon's Eye Subsector of Far Home Sector.

System Data
Ossobo System
The primary is Ossobo, an ordinary red main sequence star. It has a luminosity of 0.0202 Sols, a mass of 0.3942 Sols, and a diameter of 604,000 km. (I) a corrosive atmosphere radworld, (II-I) a sparse stony planetoid belt, (II-II) an insidious atmosphere bigworld, and (III) an exotic atmosphere bigworld form the outer system. None of the worlds retain satellites.
- The star experiences frequent flare activity.
Bergan-Bathur Subsystem
The companion is Bergan, an ordinary red main sequence star that orbits Ossobo at a mean distance of 41.3 AU. It has a luminosity of 0.0136 Sols, a mass of 0.3626 Sols, and a diameter of 551,000 km. (I) The Bathur Main Belt, designated the mainworld, forms the outer system.
- The star experiences periodic flare activity.
- The two stars have similar masses and orbit a barycenter located at around 18.6 AU (orbital position (IX), 2.78 billion km). They have an orbital period around one another of 305 years 35 days.
Mainworld Data
(I) Bathur Main Belt
(I) the Bathur Main Belt orbits within the outer system and is designated the mainworld. It lies at a mean distance of 0.15 AU from Bergan and is primarily made up of nickel-iron bodies with diameters of less than 200 km. The inner edge of the belt is considered to lie at around 0.03 AU from the star and the outer edge of the belt, with a higher concentration of icy bodies, is considered to lie at approximately 0.28 AU. The main inhabited body is named Bathur's Edge, with a mean orbital distance of 0.24 AU around Bergan and an orbital period of 240 days 17 hours. It has a diameter of 470 km, a density of 7.35 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 0.04 G. It retains no atmosphere and has no hydrosphere. Mean surface temperature: -93°C.
Native Lifeforms
Ossobo System
No world in the system is known to have native life.
Bergan-Bathur Subsystem
No native life is known to exist within the subsystem.

World starport
Bathur has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which includes amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
World technology level
Bathur possesses a Technology Level of TL–9.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Fiber optics and satellite communication and data networks.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early fusion power.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Ultra high-speed trains and early grav vehicles.
- Water: High efficiency sailcraft, multihulled seacraft, improved artificial gills.
- Air: Tiltrotorcraft, exotic VTOL's, PARWIG, and rocket-assisted suborbitals.
- Space: SSTO spacecraft, early military spacecraft (System Craft), and interstellar STL starships
- FTL: Prototype Jump Drive-1.
World government
Bathur is governed by Self-Perpetuating Oligarchy. A single family or small group provides the leadership and important positions in the government. These positions are inherited by member of the group or their family members. The organization may be monarchy, with titles passed to family members. Or a plutocracy where inheritance of the family fortune includes government position. Or the organization may be more typical organization with positions of power inherited.
