Bataco is an addictive narcotic drug widely used throughout the Distant Fringe.
Description / Specifications
Bataco is drunk as an infusion and temporarily boosts the metabolism, giving feelings of euphoria and power. Long-term use can cause serious health problems. Possession of bataco is a criminal offense on many worlds. Its use is endemic among combat troops fighting in the Hell Worlds.
History & Background / Dossier
It is derived from a large wild flower called a Sunbloom native to Veola (1832 Far Home), a world on The Descent Star Lane. Sunblooms are hardy and prolific and will grow on many worlds, though bataco manufactured from plants grown on Veola is considered superior.
