Baronet

A noble rank within the system of Imperial Nobility in the Third Imperium.

The standard ranks of Nobility are:

1. Emperor / Empress
2. Archduke / Archduchess
3. Duke / Duchess
4. Count / Countess or Contessa
5. Viscount / Viscountess
6. Marquis / Marchioness or Marquesa
7. Baron / Baroness
8. Baronet / Baronetess
9. Knight / Dame

Description (Specifications)

Landed Baronets are given the responsibility to promote the growth and development of fledgling worlds that show some promise of expanding their role in the Imperium. Such Baronets are often equated with being a "Baron in Training", though it is the world they oversee that is really being tested.

History & Background (Dossier)

Baronets can be created and assigned by either the Iridium Throne or, in some parts of the Imperium, by the Archdukes of Domains. Many Baronets have no associated land-grant at all, holding the title merely as an honorific.
