The term Barbette generally refers to large turrets (...usually around 3 to 5 displacement tons), capable of mounting more powerful (...and sometimes different types of) weapons than ordinary turrets (which are usually around 1 displacement ton). [1]
- It is a kind of Ship Equipment.
