Starships are designed with the Classic Traveller format, using High Guard Shipyard v1.13 written by Andrea Vallance.

The Athelstan class Merchants are presently being built by SIE at their corporate facilities at Grote (Spinward Marches Glisten).

Description (Specifications)

The Athelstan is a modified Type R2 design, and is fairly typical of ships built in frontier areas with an integral refueling capability, a maneuver drive capable of making a landing while fully loaded on any inhabitable planet, and a full armament package.

Unlike many other SIE vessels, the Athelstan does not ordinarily carry a robotic crew supplement since the supply of cheap robots has also dried up.

Standard armament of an Athelstan is a triple missile turret, a triple beam laser turret and two triple sandcaster turrets.

History & Background (Dossier)

The unsettled situation in the Imperium has left SIE unable to procure ships from their usual suppliers at Glisten.
