Ashes has both a thin tainted atmosphere and no surface water which makes habitation by sophonts difficult. The system has a population between 10,000 and a million, lacking the industrial base to be completely self-supporting. This world is designated an Amber Zone with an environment, laws, customs, life forms, or other conditions make it dangerous to visitors. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Zeda Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Domain of Vland. Ashes, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight, a member of the Imperial Nobility charged with overseeing the world. This world contains an Imperial Scout Base, capable of handling Scout Service starships and personnel. During the Long Night this world was named Irnuu Dip.

Astrography and planetology

Ashes is a member of the Dagudashaag Main.

The aptly named Ashes is virtually dead, an almost sterile world. There is little in the way of natural native life existing on the planet. A solar flare in -789 boiled away its seas, stripped off most of its atmosphere, and scorched the land.

History and background

Today the planet has hardly recovered from an earlier solar flare disaster. Small, nomadic groups travel the warmer regions of the equator, harvesting the few remaining oasis for food and drink.
