History & Background / Dossier

The Vargr and visiting Zhodani trying to breathe the Exotic atmosphere on Asal (Knoellighz 0637) B5A0500-D De Ni / Ht can have high-pitched voices for half a minute before passing out from lack of sufficient oxygen. Thus, these Desert world inhabitants must bring along an air supply when out of doors.

World Starport

Asal has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

• This neutral meeting ground for merchants, smugglers, dead-drop pickups, Vargr Emissaries and Zhodani Diplomats is overseen by a rather mercenary group of Corsairs that has “Lettered” itself as Privateers for hire by both the disbelieving Consulate to Spinward and the League to Trailing. These Privateers formed from former Corsairs provide system security from piracy, escort and take out mission tickets sponsored by the two polities when it suits them. De facto rulers of Asal, this band of space buccaneers is gaining Charisma in the edgy side of diplomacy.
• The neutral meeting grounds in the Highport facility is well-funded through the local Privateers and the platform as well as the planet’s surface enjoys its High-Tech rating of D (13). It is in direct ecomomic competition with Gitsuraeguethousu (Knoellighz 0736) for traffic between the Consulate and the League.
