Arna is a fluid world with an oceanic geography of a liquid other than water such as ammonia, methane, hydrocarbons, or other exotic liquids. The system has a population between 10,000 and 10 million, lacking the industrial base to be completely self-supporting. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Iiradu Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Domain of Vland. Arna, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight, a member of the Imperial Nobility charged with overseeing the world. This world contains an Imperial Scout Base, capable of handling Scout Service starships and personnel. During the Long Night this world was named Dagaduu.

Astrography and planetology

Arna is located on the Vilani Main.

Point of Interest: Arnaian Domed Cities

The inhabitants live in massive Megastructures, a series of huge domed towns each governed by separate families — descendants of the original colonists.

History and background

The system is extremely relaxed for such a harsh environment. The planet is relatively wealthy because of Aashma's reliance on it for a number of staples including water, oxygen, and minerals extracted from ice layers trapped deep beneath the planet's crust.

This is Arna's reason for being — the jump station at Aashma needs supplies and Arna's families also control the recreational facilities at Aashma.

There are two more reasons for Arna's overly relaxed attitude towards life. The surface may be harsh but there is rarely a need to go outside the domes and the pumps workings are automated to a large degree. The people have a lot of spare time and are very recreational, so a huge sports gambling and drug culture has emerged. The main drug of choice is Seaweed, which is legal on Arna and easily available.

The population's general attitude can annoy visitors hugely. Work may be delayed while the crew take another break. Costs on world are high but so are the salaries — some visitors come for the gambling, others to earn good wages.
