Arisada is a low-population world with a population of less than 10,000 sophonts in size.
- This world has yet to take off economically or otherwise and the population remains low for reasons largely unknown.
- It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Velous Subsector of Far Home Sector.
Astrography and Planetology
This star system is detailed using the Fringian Variant System Description.
- The system lies on the edge of the Demon's Eye Rift.
- The supergiant primary of the Demon's Eye system and the huge Demon's Eye Nebula that surrounds it, lying five parsecs to rimward-trailing, are clearly visible in the sky.

System Data
Saludi-Arisada System
The primary is Saludi, an ordinary red main sequence star. It has a luminosity of 0.0136 Sols, a mass of 0.3626 Sols, and a diameter of 551,000 km. (I-I) a vacuum worldlet, (I-II) Arisada, designated the mainworld, and (II) a sparse stony planetoid belt form the inner part of the outer system. Orbital positions (III) through (VII) are unavailable due to the presence of the companion star. (VIII-I) a ringed large gas giant, and (VIII-II) a large gas giant form the outer part of the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.
Procon Subsystem
The companion is Procon, a dim red subdwarf star that orbits Saludi at a mean distance of 1.72 AU (orbital position (V), 257.3 million km) and has an orbital period of 3 years 273 days. It has a luminosity of 0.002 Sols, a mass of 0.104 Sols, and a diameter of 145,000 km.(I) a vacuum worldlet, (II) an exotic atmosphere bigworld, (III-I) a small gas giant, and (III-II) a trace atmosphere iceworld form the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.
Mainworld Data
(I-II) Arisada
(I-II) Arisada is designated the mainworld. It orbits Saludi at a mean distance of 0.29 AU (43.4 million km), within the habitable zone. It has an orbital period of 94 days 17 hours: it is tidally locked to Saludi. The axial tilt is 4 degrees. Arisada has a diameter of 4,447 km, a density of 6.21 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 0.39 G. Tidal stresses generated by the gravitational pull of Saludi cause regular geological activity. Its atmosphere is rated as Very Thin, with a mean surface pressure of 0.22 bar and a composition of 80% nitrogen (N2), 19% abiotic oxygen (O2), and 1% argon (Ar), water vapor (H2O), carbon dioxide (CO2), neon (Ne) and other trace gases. Approximately 37% of the surface is covered in sheets of water-ice and seas of water kept liquid by geothermal heat generated by radioactives present in the lithosphere. Mean surface temperature: -46°C. The climate is rated as Cold and is static, with no seasonal changes during the local year. The atmosphere is sluggish and minor weather systems driven by the star drift across the globe.
Mainworld Geography and Topography
Total surface area: 62 million km², Land surface area: 37 million km², Water surface area: 25 million km².
- Oxygen contained deep within the world's interior is released by outgassing and serves to renew the atmosphere: it continuously reacts with surface materials and other atmospheric gases, gradually reducing the percentage of oxygen in the air.
- Arisada is a Twilight Zone World.
- The world experiences libration, which causes the star to move in the sky and periodically rise and fall above the horizon in the twilight region.
Native Lifeforms
Saludi-Arisada System
The large gas giant lying in orbital position (VIII-I) (within the outer part of the outer system) has jovionoid lifeforms within its atmosphere.
No other world in the system is known to have native life.
Procon Subsystem
No world in the subsystem is known to have native life.
History & Background (Dossier)
No information yet available.
World starport
Arisada has a Class D Starport, a poor quality installation which has few of the expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
World technology level
Arisada possesses a Technology Level of TL–8.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Fiber optics, improved telephones, and satellite communication and data networks.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Improved geothermal and improved batteries.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Advanced automobiles.
- Water: Triphibians and early artificial gills.
- Air: Improved helicopters and hypersonic jets.
- Space: Space shuttles, early space stations, and improved interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
World government
Arisada has no central government for the world, an Anarchy. The largest governmental structure would be a family, tribe, or single clan. The largest group will be between 50 and 100 individuals, and there may be dozens to hundreds of them. This governmental structure can be stable over long periods of time if the population remains small or geographically separated.
