- It is an unclaimed Non-Aligned world located in the Lordan Subsector of Divide Sector.
Astrography and Planetology
This star system is detailed using the Fringian Variant System Description.
- It forms a part of the Sithula Sprawl.

- Note: in a rare example of an error in the DSP Listing, the primary star of the Argan system is listed as a F9 VI on star charts, when its proper classification is actually F9 IV. This error will be corrected with the 5610 Edition of the listing.
System Data
Lorah-Argan System
The primary is a Lorah, yellow-white subgiant star. It has a luminosity of 7.6 Sols, a mass of 1.8 Sols, and a diameter of 3.506 million km. The inner system consists of (III) an exotic atmosphere bigworld, and (V) a trace atmosphere hospitable world – orbital positions (I), (II) and (IV) are empty. (VI) Argan orbits within the habitable zone and is designated the mainworld. (VII) a sparse stony planetoid belt, (VIII) a ringed small gas giant, and (IX) a very large gas giant form the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.
Mainworld Data
(VI) Argan
(VI) Argan is designated the mainworld. It orbits Lorah at a mean distance of 2.61 AU (390.5 million km), within the habitable zone. It has an orbital period of 3 years 52 days and a rotation period of 43 hours. The axial tilt is 35 degrees. Argan has a diameter of 4,822 km, a density of 4.73 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 0.33 G. The world is geologically active. Its atmosphere is rated as Thin, Tainted, with a mean surface pressure of 0.53 bar and a composition of 84% nitrogen (N2), 15% abiotic oxygen (O2), and 1% argon (Ar), water vapor (H2O), carbon dioxide (CO2), neon (Ne) and other trace gases. The taint is caused by the low percentage of atmospheric oxygen. Approximately 18% of the surface is covered in seas of liquid water: average tidal ranges are negligible. Mean surface temperature: 43°C. The atmosphere is active and moderate weather systems driven by the star and the seas work across the globe. The climate is seasonal.
Satellite
Argan retains a single natural satellite, a vacuum worldlet named Keddon:
- (VIa) Keddon (known UWP ?100???-?, orbiting at 45 Diameters/215,000 km)
Mainworld Geography and Topography
Total surface area: 73 million km², Land surface area: 60 million km², Water surface area: 13 million km².
- Oxygen contained deep within the world's interior is released by outgassing and serves to renew the atmosphere: it continuously reacts with surface materials and other atmospheric gases, gradually reducing the percentage of oxygen in the air.
Native Lifeforms
No world in the Argan system is known to have native life.
